ISTD: Lost People Really Do Walk In Circles
Recognized with ISTD Membership in 2019
“Lost People Really Do Walk in Circles” is a multi-faceted exploration at the crossroads of science and design. This typographical masterpiece weaves together various elements, inviting viewers to embark on a journey of discovery.
One key component of this project is a map meticulously crafted with letters gently etched by laser. These letters, cleverly scattered across the map, subtly spell out the names of locations where the scientific study was conducted. This duality both reveals your exact location and adds an element of intrigue, challenging viewers to decipher the words within the intricate design.
At the heart of the project lies a book, an embodiment of the study’s findings. What sets it apart is the arrangement of page numbers, deliberately placed out of order. This intentional disruption serves as a metaphor for the study of lost individuals, emphasizing the disorientation and unpredictability inherent in their journeys.
“Lost People Really Do Walk in Circles” is more than a publication; it’s an immersive experience, a fusion of artistry and scientific inquiry. It captures the essence of design’s power to communicate complex concepts subtly and invites viewers to engage with the subject matter on multiple levels. I look forward to exploring new horizons where design and innovation intersect.
